I LOVE these Coasters!
These are so easy to make and you can use scraps. This is another simple project your students can make as gifts for any holiday or a birthday gift for a loved one. I am pre-cutting up a bunch for my students to make as family gifts for Valentines Day. They sew up super quick!
I use cotton batting instead of polyester so the soak up the moisture on cups.
Pattern: Draw a heart shape larger than the bottom of the biggest cup! You can also look on line for heart shape cut outs or printable if you are not comfortable drawing one. I like to make 4 – 6 coasters in a set.
Supplies Needed:
Heart shaped pattern
Fabric
Thin cotton batting
Contrasting thread
Scissors
Pinking shears
Cut out 2 hearts and 1 batting for each coaster.
Sandwich the batting between the wrong sides of fabric.
Topstitch 1/2″ around hearts. Use pinking shears around edge to trim.
